The Macallan ‘Art is the Flower’ Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a celebration of the legacy of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, a figure who has a deep connection with Scottish art and architecture. The packaging for design for Art is the Flower takes inspiration from Mackintosh’s famous stained glass artworks, specifically ‘The Spirit of the Rose’. A premium display pack was designed and produced that showcased this piece in a visually striking way and utilised print techniques to bring tactility to the pack. Opened out, the bottle is displayed in a gallery with the stained glass artwork and poetry piece behind. A label set was designed for the bottle that featured elements of the pack design, in a more delicate way.
